Tonight we got to celebrate my incredible dad as he retired from First Community Bank after 36 years! Many of you ask where I get my work ethic from and I wish I could say it’s something learned from school, from text books, or from teachers, and while some of it is, everything I am is because of my parents and celebrating my dad tonight was one of the proudest moments of my life. There were so many special people in one room celebrating my dad and while tears of joy filled my eyes, pride filled my heart. For the past 27 years, I have played in First Community Bank, stole so many dum dum suckers, ran up and down the stairs up to his office, called to ask Teresa if dad was in or if she could find dad, talk about bike week with Steve or to see if Kathy could reset my pin more times than I can count on my fingers and toes…the bank has always been more than my dads work place, they’ve always been like our family. Your work schedule allowed you to always be at all of my football games to watch me cheer, soccer games to watch me slide tackle and yes, even my tennis match to tell me I should probably stick to fashion. It allowed you to take me to school every morning in your bronco singing The Rolling Stones or Jimmy Buffett. We couldn’t ever repay you for the life you were able to give us but we hope you know that we couldn’t be more grateful for everything you did and continue to do for us. We hope retirement is so good to you dad and it’s spent living and loving everyday, hopefully down south with us! ? We love you dad and are so proud of you!!!
