Farooq Kperogi unfriended me after my second to last post, meaning he has read it. But he hasn’t blocked me yet, which enabled me to visit his wall.
Alhamdulillah. I have tolerated dozens of his posts where he called PMB supporters “dimwits” and “morons” of “low IQs” who were not fit to be his friends. Where he falsely claimed President Buhari himself was a “murderer”, an “unrepentant violent thug” who suffers “dementia”, a “liar”, a “hypocrite” and an “election-rigger”.
Each time Facebook-users tried reasoning with Farooq to tone down in abusing a man old enough to be his father, his usual response was “PMB being a public figure, I’m free to abuse him” – forgetting that his own father, now deceased (may Allah forgive him) was also a publc figure in his community but no one abused him so recklessly.
Farooq and I both being Muslims guided by the doctrine of Fard al-Kifayah, I have fulfilled mine by advising him to seek mental healthcare for his erratic behaviour. I made that public so the world would be my witness, knowing Farooq’s habit of twisting private messages for political gain.
Alhamdulillah, I tolerated abuse from a friend until he got tired and unfriended me. I knew patience has its rewards, but seeing is believing.
