What happened to employees actually engaging with their customers at the store?
Are we not training on customer service anymore in our retailers? Just had the worst experience at American Eagle…every employee had an attitude, was non-helpful and was literally there just “working” …folding clothes, cashing out people…but absolutely zero customer service.
The guy who checked me out was “annoyed” because he didn’t get a break after a bad transaction where someone was not happy. Really?!! You need a break? Unreal.
And the managers, they were just as bad FaceTiming with friends and gossiping. All while I’m searching desperately for the right jeans and clearly need help.
Shame on those retailers that aren’t instilling customer service in their people and demanding it be demonstrated consistently.
