Police nab 25 Fulani expressway kidnappers in Kogi
The Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Kogi State Police Command had a good reason to smile when it made a big haul and arrested over 25 suspected Fulani kidnappers and robbers who operated along Osara-Lokoja Expressway, Kogi State under the cover of herding cattle for free range grazing.
Kogi Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu who disclosed this to Sunday Sun, commended the Commander of SARS, Supol Bimbo Oyewole and his operatives, who stormed the hideout of the Fulani herdsmen at Itobe and Adogo axis of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Kogi state.
Also, he said that SARS operatives arrested the alleged kingpin armed robbers and kidnappers in the area, Olobo Abdul with 10 members of his gang, who operate Auchi-Okene West and Osara-Lokoja Road.
According to Inalegwu, the gang kidnapped a foreigner in January 2017, and held him hostage in the bush until N1 million was paid to them as ransom.
The police boss said that the Fulani gang had June 3, 2017 attacked a passenger bus along the Osara-Lokoja and took some of the female passengers to their hideout in the bush, where they raped them and also collected N500,000 as ransom. They kidnapped and robbed another set of bus passengers along the Kabba-Shoko road. They held the passengers for three days, collected N1 million as ransom and raped the female victims.
Inalegwu further revealed that the Fulani kidnappers and robbers masquerading as herdsmen also abducted a man in Okene. They took the sum of N400,300 from the victim and held him for seven days before he was released.
In the course of investigation, the SARS operatives arrested 23-year-old Abubakar Bamo and Mohammed Sani, 25, who conspired to abduct one Alhaji Buba at Adogo axis and he paid N1 million ransom after spending several days in the custody of the kidnappers. The gang led the duo of Bamo and Sani were alleged to have terrorized the entire community of Adogo and Itobe in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State.
Inalegwu stated that the SARS team made another breakthrough in May 2017 when it arrested Lawal Suleman Amdu and his gang. He said that the gang had abducted over 10 victims and killed policemen on duty and stole their AK 47 rifles.
However, he made heartwarming revelation that SARS operatives recovered police AK 47 rifles and ammunition as well as pump-action guns. In the ensuing exchange of gunshots between the police and the Fulani gang, one of the members, Abubakar Mohammed, escaped to their camp in Obajana with bullet wounds, where a nurse, Taiwo Oladiran, treated him and extracted bullets from his body and was paid N30,000. Luck however ran out on her and she was later arrested following a tip off. In a brief chat with Sunday Sun, she said: “I have been treating Fulani herdsmen whenever they were shot by policemen. I will go and treat them in the Fulani camp at Obajana, Kogi State.”
On his part, Abubakar Mohammed said: “We are cattle rearers but we have robbed several bus passengers along Okene, Osara/Lokoja and collected all their money. We kidnapped some of them and held them in the bush, where we raped the female passengers. There was a time the police killed a member of our gang, but we re-grouped and started kidnapping anybody we saw in the bush in Itobe and Adogo communities. We also raped the female victims working in the farms.”
Bamo and Sani who are being held at the SARS headquarters told
Sunday Sun that took special interest in killing policemen on duty and taking away their AK 47 rifles which they used to carry out their operations.
Inalegwu assured that the command would not rest on its oars. Rather it would continue to prosecute the renewed war against kidnappers and armed robbers.
He said after investigations the suspects in custody would be charged to court. He urged the people of Kogi to provide the police with useful information to enable it combat Fulani kidnappers and robbers more effectively.

The rate at which some persons sees project carried out by GYB as nonsense is sad and funny,
Tinubu started projects in Lagos State, and Fashola continued, Ambode has no right or reasons not to continue what he met on ground.
If previous government after late Audu has done well beyond what GYB met on ground, then we should be talking about Mega projects now,
Former Gov Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, did the dualization of the LKJ township road,
HE finished the new stadium and also did the Ibro water aka Greater Waterworks,
Aside fine tuning the roads, drainages, patching etc,
Making sure water is available from the Ibro water to the citizens,
Be sure that the stadium is in good shape, the GYB government has no business in trying to work on/ or bringing up such project anymore,
If electric power has bn made available to some villages that are older than the state itself before now,
GYB won’t have gone into providing transformers small or big, and lighting up important villages and towns at this stage / level.
If inter cities and village roads in the State,
Plus roads inherited from Benue, Niger, Edo and Kwara and some eastern States have bn recieving attentions, time after time in the last 25yrs, not sure this GYB government will take such project upon themselves talk more of carrying it on their head.
If the issue of security was checked before now, to reduce kidnapping, robbery etc,
GYB won’t have spent time equipping the federal government security agencies and also forming a state security outfits.
All the GYB government would have done is to continue building those developmental things they met on ground while other projects pump up and take shape to make kogi a moving State, based on the location of the state.
Ice-cold water alone can never cure a banging headache.
By December this year, kogi rice will be everywhere, cassava, garri maize, and fish will be more than enough for us and we will supply exporters.
All the projects that will make this things a reality are all going on,
But people choose not to see it or choose not to talk about it.
Salaries, Salaries, Bros Shegun called me as early as 6:30am saying “brother mi, mo ri alati ni oru ooo” meaning “my brother, I saw alert(salary)in midnight ooo” with serious joy in his voice.
A retired woman who has made so much noise about not getting paid, gave me money to buy airtime, I had to return it cos I know it was done in error, as she has not been paid in 12months,
She said haaaa my son, please take it, I have received 8months payment and she followed it up with prayers.
I bear witness with God and this holy month of Ramadan on this statement.
Bottom line, people are collecting salary, but based on who we are, some choose to lock up and keep telling lies, because they don’t wanna pay their debt.
Every State has their problems, but when lies, blackmail, insults, name callings is what you think makes you an opposition, then I’m sorry, you need go back and learn the trade or profession.
We can’t shy away from the fact that there’s hunger in the land, State, Nation and the world at large.
It’s not easy with the USA and other countries that has secured their tomorrow, talk more of African countries who live / act on EAT EVERYTHING STYLE.
my favorite prayer point is “May it be for each and everyone of us, just as we wish for others.
If you can’t say a loud AMEN to such prayers, you be enemy of progress.
Happy weekend.
Mr Shaba.

Uche’s Mind When a lion wakes up in the morning, it has to run faster than the slowest gazelle, otherwise it will go hungry

Uche’s Mind When a lion wakes up in the morning, it has to run faster than the slowest gazelle, otherwise it will go hungry. In the same vein, when a Gazelle wakes up in the morning, it has to run faster than the fastest lion, otherwise it will be eaten as food. – African Proverb The wise man says, that the moral of the story is that when you wake up, you should start running, whether you are a lion or a gazelle. The Holy Book (Bible) said that He who does not work, let him not eat. If you are too careful not to stain your hands, then you should be ready not to touch oil on your lips. There is a saying in Igbo that “aka ájá àjà na-ebute ọnụ mmanụ mmanụ (this literarily means, that a dirty hand gives food to the mouth). How old are you? Do you still depend on your parents for your up keep at 25 years? Do you sit at home and wallow in utopia? Do you hold grudge against the government without doing anything about the problem? Are you a knowledge based person, who knows everything about everything, yet does nothing? Are you the Newspaper reader and CNN “watcher”, always current with the world problems, yet never see opportunities in them? It’s time to get up and start doing. The best time to start was 20years ago, the next best time to start is Now. Apply for that work. Get that work. Register that company. Print that Business card. Attend that workshop. Read that book. Fix that meeting. Make that call. Start it small but aim BIG. Don’t doubt your intuition. Start. Just start. For the best way to achieve anything is to START FIRST. Don’t worry how the resources will come. Just start. If it takes you working for another, do it, for the LORD orders the footsteps of the saints. Start that RUN today. My New found role model, Ubong King will say, the only way to get out of TROUBLE is to get into it. If you succeed in achieving your goals through this method, tell me HOW. Dalụ kwanu

NO PROTESTS SEEM Nigeria has been importing petroleum products for many years now despite being a major oil producer!

NO PROTESTS SEEM Nigeria has been importing petroleum products for many years now despite being a major oil producer! . . . U no protest! For decades, all the nations refineries remained dead. Despite the humongous funds pumped into their rehabilitation, they remained dead as the funds ended in party men’s pockets. . . . U no protest! The entire roads in the nation were death traps, despite funds disbursed yearly for rehabilitation. Still nothing! Monies ended up in few individuals’ deep pocket. . . . No protest! N11trn wasted in power sector rehabilitation, even as the nation progressively sank into deeper darkness. Monies gone down the usual route! . . . Oga no protest! Oga hear say only madam conner money wey fit give this nation 10 world-class hospitals! . . . Oga bone! No protest! We all grew up meeting tap water dotting our streets, provided and serviced by water board. But we watched as these progressively went into extinction, despite huge budgetary allocation to water board every year. . . . E no reach to protest! We are inundated with Halliburton scandal, Siemens scandal, Malabu Oil scandal. NNPC missing $20bn. . . . Dem no reach to protest! Workers are owed many months despite prompt disbursement of monthly allocations, bailout funds, Paris Club refunds. Governors use the funds to build private hotels, while workers and their children starve. . . . We no need to protest! The only thing worth protesting is an ill president’s ‘long’ absence on medical leave, despite fulfilling all constitutional requirements. Bros, this nation belongs to us all. In what is clearly a scramble for the soul of this nation, I and millions of other well-meaning Nigerians that staged a bloodless revolution in 2015 to take back our nation, have taken our stand. We stand with Buhari! We stand with better Nigeria! We stand with change! Months to the 2015 presidential election, Doyin Okukpe could not help but acknowledge that Nigerians had rallied round Buhari with “Sai Baba” renting the air. Today, that same crowd is still there. Charly Boy can go on to build a house in Fountain square, but until he beams his mirror on our self-serving NASS and money-for-judgement judiciary, Charles Oputa is completely on his own. So walked out of my bedroom looked down and there was a slug the size of an anaconda. Screamed so loud woke the boys up and they thought something was bad wrong with me. Of course I was near heart failure so that qualifies. There was no way I was touching that thing, so of course Tox had to get up anyway. How did it get in the middle of my hallway and are there more? Like I’m probably going to have nightmares. Nor will I ever walk barefoot or with my head up again. #myfearofslugsisreal #theyaresoslimy #wherethehelldiditcomefrom #shouldicallanexterminator #imsuchagirl #doievenhaveonecompletesentence
